Bilbao is the largest city in the País Vasco, the northern part of Spain. It counts almost 400,000 inhabitants. It is the capital of the province of Biscay. The city was founded on the banks of the Nervion River in 1300 by an act of the then lord of Biscay, Don Diego Lopez de Haro.
