Car hire in Turin is useful for business journeys, the Lingotto district and trips around Piedmont beyond the city centre. On Rent.it you can compare airport collection with available station and city branch options for your dates.
How to compare and book on Rent.it
Enter your collection location, dates and times on Rent.it, adding a different return location if needed. Compare the available offers by vehicle category, transmission, luggage capacity and rental terms as well as price. Check the actual branch and its position before confirming: a city search does not let you collect from any office. Rent.it is a broker; the supplier named in your offer provides the vehicle and issues the rental agreement.
Where to collect your car in Turin
Caselle Airport is the option to look at when arriving by air. For train arrivals, distinguish Porta Nuova from Porta Susa and check which branch can actually be booked. Lingotto and southern districts may suit appointments on that side of Turin. Compare the office location with your accommodation and the direction in which you will leave the city.
For information about individual collection locations, see: Turin - Airport Caselle (TRN).
Check which branches are available for your travel dates; a named city district does not necessarily have a bookable collection office.
Driving licence, payment cards and security deposit
Bring a valid driving licence, identification and a payment card that meets the offer’s requirements, usually in the main driver’s name. If your licence was issued abroad, check whether an International Driving Permit or a translation is required. Debit and prepaid cards are not accepted by every supplier: check both the card type and network in the vehicle details. Paying online does not establish that the same card will be accepted at collection.
Security deposits, insurance excesses, cover, minimum age, surcharges, mileage allowances and additional driver rules vary by supplier, location, vehicle and offer. Read the vehicle details and rental terms before booking, including the funds required on your card. A lower deposit does not necessarily mean a lower excess.
Choosing a vehicle for your trip
A compact car is convenient for city stops; regional touring may call for more boot space and comfort. For mountain destinations, check the winter equipment provided and any requirements on your chosen roads.
Driving and parking in Turin
The central ZTL is only one part of Turin’s traffic restrictions: pedestrian areas and public transport lanes can follow different rules. Check current access times and the permitted route to your garage, as well as environmental restrictions. For trips between outer districts and nearby towns, consider the ring road and rush-hour traffic.
Places to drive to from Turin
Venaria Reale, Rivoli and the Langhe offer different options beyond Turin; set aside a separate itinerary for the wine-growing hills. For Alpine valleys, check weather, road conditions and required equipment. If you plan to cross into France or another country, confirm the supplier’s permission, insurance cover and any cross-border charges beforehand.
Planning your return
Follow the supplier’s return address, which may differ from the collection office. Allow time for refuelling or charging, the vehicle inspection and your onward journey. Check the fuel policy, late return charges and any out of hours arrangements; do not assume a key drop is available. If you want to leave the car at another branch, check availability and any one way fee in the quote.
